Marquise Shape Ruby and Diamond Cluster Ring, circa 1910
About the Item
Marquise shape ruby and diamond cluster ring. Set centrally with a cushion shape old cut natural unenhanced Burmese ruby in an open back claw setting with an approximate weight of 1.50 carats, set to top and bottom with two cushion shape old mine diamonds in open back grain settings with weights of 0.85 carats and 1.10 carats, all bordered by sixteen cushion shape old mine diamonds in open back claw settings with a combined weight of 3.30 carats and enhanced with six cushion shape old mine diamonds in open back grain settings with a combined weight of 0.12 carats. The total approximate diamond weight is 5.37 carats, to an impressive marquise shape cluster with finely pierced claws, intricate backholing and smoothly conforming shoulders which lead to a slim D-shape shank. Marked yellow gold with platinum settings, indistinct maker's mark, French, circa 1910, accompanied by Gemmological Certification Services report #78137-65. UK finger size M 1/2.
