Victorian Demantoid Garnet and Natural Pearls Cluster Ring

About the Item

Full of romanticism and symbolism is this dramatic flower ring featuring a vibrant and richly saturated green demantoid garnet complemented by lustrous delicate pearls in a classic cluster design. Extremely popular during the late 1800s and early 1900s. Admired as the most elite among gemstones, they were incorporated frequently into the elegant works, as this beautiful pearl and demantoid garnet halo ring from Victorian period. This rare and noble green gem is oval cut of an estimated weight of 1.01 Ct approx, delicately prong set and surrounded by twelve saltwater pearls creating a delicate and resonating flower shape glowing with almost hypnotic intense vivid green, so rare. The feminine piece has a gorgeous flower shape half closed back, probably opened later in time as custom during Victorian era, to allow more light passing through this amazing wonder of nature. Elegant scrolling shoulders with neoclassical "C" elements in openwork design give the ring a special feel stimulating the senses without excess. Artfully crafted in 18 Kt yellow gold by a master goldsmith during Victorian period, marked. Very good overall conditions commensurate to use and age. Sparkling with a fire that rivals that of the diamond, demantoid garnets are considered among the rarest treasures among gemstone collectors.
