A fine and impressive antique 0.32 carat natural emerald and 0.48 carat diamond, 14 karat yellow gold, platinum set marquise dress ring; part of our antique jewelry and estate jewelry collections This impressive antique emerald and diamond dress ring has been crafted in 14k yellow gold with a platinum setting. The pierced decorated low profile marquise shaped frame displays a natural step cut emerald eight claw / prong set in subtle relief to the center bordered by sixteen, pavé set, Old European cut diamonds totalling 0.48 carat. The pierced decorated, plain, tapering shoulders blend seamlessly with the plain hallmarked ring shank. The 14k fineness mark 585 is clearly struck to the interior of the ring shank. This 1890s emerald and diamond dress ring is supplied with an independent diamond grading report card. "Rather than regarding inclusions in colored stones as harmful, in small sizes and numbers that do not in any way detract from their beauty, they should be regarded as adding to desirability, for they provide identifying characteristics."
