4.6 Carat Natural Yellow Diamond Shield Ring in Platinum and 18 Karat Yellow Gol
About the Item
This extraordinary ring was designed and hand-finished in our shop by Eytan Brandes. It's one-of-a-kind: a special project undertaken by Eytan to showcase this particular little collection of beautiful yellow diamonds.
Covering half the circumference of the ring is an interconnected web of 17 yellow diamonds in a spectrum of fancy yellow colors -- yellow to yellow-brown to yellow-green -- and ranging in size from 3mm to 5mm. Fifteen of the stones are brilliant cut rounds, but there's a couple of fancy-cut ovals as well. All of the stones are earth-mined, untreated, naturally yellow, and range in clarity from SI2 to VS2. The total yellow diamond weight is 3.79 carats.
To best show off their yellow tone, Eytan set the stones himself in handmade open-back basket prongs of 18K yellow gold that make the inside of the ring as beautiful as the outside!
The split-shank platinum mounting forms a top and bottom border for the yellow stones: a nice contrast of clean and uniformly spaced white diamonds U-set in white metal. These 31 white diamonds are good quality earth-mined full-cut diamonds (G-H/VS2) with a total weight of 0.82 carats.
Measurements:
The widest part of the ring measures 11/16" tall. The band is 3.5mm wide and 2mm thick in the center back.
Sizing:
Currently, this ring is a size 5-¾. Resizing is complimentary but note that it's a little tricky below size 5 and above size 7. If you need a size outside this range, let's discuss!
Marks:
Stamped "PT" for the platinum plus "18K" for the 18K yellow gold center web of pronged basket settings. Signed "Eytan" by Eytan Brandes.
Weight:
The total weight of the ring is 11.4 grams, of which just under a gram (4.61 carats / 0.922 grams) can reasonably be attributed to the stones.
