About the Item
A stunning, fine and impressive antique 1.77 carat natural blue Basaltic sapphire and 1.86 carat diamond, platinum marquise shape ring; part of our antique jewelry collections.
This stunning, fine and impressive antique sapphire and diamond ring has been crafted in platinum.
The marquise shaped mount is ornamented with three bezel set oval mixed cut natural blue Basaltic sapphires displayed in a vertical formation to the centre of the design.
Sixteen mixed bezel set Old European round cut and eight-cut diamonds embellish the border, with a further four bezel set eight-cut diamonds completing the arrangement.
The subtly flared pierced decorated ring shoulders blend seamlessly with the plain hallmarked ring shank.
This stunning 1920s antique diamond cluster ring is hallmarked to the interior of the shank with the marks for platinum (10% irid platinum*).
This fine dress ring is supplied with an independent diamond grading report card.
*NOTE Any platinum alloy has to state the alloy metal first eg iridium 10% - platinum 90% in this instance.
** The Gemmological Certification Services (GCS) lab has verbally accredited the sapphire originating in Basaltic deposits and verifies that the gemstone shows no indications of heating; non-heated sapphires are a scarcity.
Condition
This impressive original antique cluster ring is fine quality set with natural blue sapphires and very high color graded, old cut diamonds. The ring is a very good gauge of platinum and is in excellent condition with a very clear hallmark to the interior.
