Extraordinary Untreated Turquoise and Diamond Ring. Turquoise is a bright blue to greenish stone with a long and distinguished history. It one of the most famous stones of the ancient world, prized by the Egyptians, the Aztecs and the rulers of Shang dynasty China. Turquoise was thought to have general protective qualities, and rumoured to discolour if its owner’s health was declining. This beautiful cluster ring is set with a large turquoise cabochon of an ideal, bright greenish blue, which is also very consistent, which is hard to find in large turquoises, which tend to be patchy due to the way they grow in the earth. Only the reverse reveals its natural origins, with a visible remnant of its parent rock. The striking colour of this stone is offset by its yellow gold mount, and encircled by glittering single-cut diamonds - the perfect finishing touch for this extraordinary, bright central stone.
