Frascarolo Milano Enameled Tiger Cocktail Ring in 18Kt Gold Diamonds And Rubies
About the Item
Tiger Cocktail ring designed by Frascarolo.
A beautiful highly sculpted ring from the bestiary collection of the famed Italian jeweler and designer, Pierino Frascarolo. This impressive and intricate piece was crafted during the Mid-Century modernist period, around the 1960's in solid yellow gold of 18 karats. Designed in the shape of the whimsical figure of a roaring Tiger with black and white stripes. The entire body is carefully decorated, with applications of black, red and white glass enamels.
Rubies: The eyes of the tiger are bezel set, with 2 marquise cuts of natural vivid red rubies 0.30 carats.
Diamonds: Mounted in inlaid settings, with 8 European round diamonds, 0.24 carats, white color less F/G color, VS/SI clarity.
Weight: 16.1 Grams, (10.32 Dwt.).
Size: 8 and can be sized.
Measurements: From the top view are 24 mm by 19 mm, (0.95 x 0.75 Inches) and raise 12 mm over the finger.
Hallmarks: Stamped with Italian marks; the maker's mark for Frascarolo and the mark for the assay of the assay of the gold
Pierino Frascarolo
He was born in 1928 in Milan Italy. He began his career as an apprentice with the Fratelli Lunati company. Subsequently, he founded his own firm with the partnership of Aldo Lenti. In 1948, he moved his jewelry factory to Corso Matteotti. He is well-known for his enamel and gold animals created throughout the 1960s. Later, Lenti and Frascarolo separated and the latter formed Frascarolo & co. in New York city with Mr. Adriano Gugliada. Frascarolo died in Valenza in July 1976 at the young age of just forty-eight.
