An impressive vintage 1980s 1.04 carat chrysoprase, 0.65 carat sodalite, 0.12 carat diamond and 18 karat yellow and white gold dress ring; part of our diverse vintage jewelry collections. This fine and impressive vintage ring has been crafted in 18k yellow gold with an 18k white gold setting. The asymmetric design is ornamented with a floral cluster, composed of four marquise cabochon cut sodalites and four marquise cabochon cut chrysoprases. The center of the cluster is accented with a single four claw set 0.12 Ct modern brilliant round cut diamond. A ribbed multi-stranded design emanates from one side of the cluster. Brutalist 18K ring with amethyst and diamonds probably by Arthur King an American designer in the 1960's and 1970's. His jewelry can be seen in major museums such as MOMA and the V & A in London. He was also collected by many of the major movie stars and celebrities of the time such as Elizabeth Taylor, Lena Horne and Barbara Hutton. The ring, though not signed, has many of King's inimitable stylist nuances. Such as the powerful and organic prongs, the decidedly nugget like patina coupled with the obvious cie perdue or lost wax creation of the setting and the unusual design that was not mass produced. This ring is well made, the 6 diamonds, estimated to weigh .46 cts., are all H, near colorless, and very slightly included (VS1), they are set in 18K white gold, the rest of the ring is 18K yellow gold.
