Sculptural ring designed by Donald Claflin for Tiffany & Co.
Very rare and unusual piece, created in New York city by Donald Claflin at the Tiffany Studios, back in the 1970. This sculptural geometric ring was crafted in solid yellow gold of 18 karats, with high polished finish.
Embellished on top, with a cubic geometric element of 8 x 8 x 8 mm carved from natural reddish salmon coral. The figure of this cube, fits and adapts to the multi-angle design, creating a three-dimensional visual image.
Has a total weight of 8.3 Grams and the actual size is 6.25, sizeable. The top view measurements are 11mm by 20mm and raise 10mm over the finger.
Stamped, with the maker's mark, the gold assay hallmark and signed, "TIFFANY & CO 18KT".
Donald Claflin (1935-1979) was an American jewelry designer most associated with the colorful and whimsical designs he created for tiffany & co. during the sixties and seventies. His start in jewelry came when he joined the firm of David Webb, known for their buoyantly enameled figurative jewels that were a fresh contrast to the formality of the fifties. In 1965 Claflin was hired by tiffany & co. to continue in the innovative and individualistic design approach that designer Jean Schlumberger had so successfully established at the firm.

Condition: The overall condition of this ring is excellent. Beside the little normal wear, there is no damage to the gold. All gemstones, are secured in the settings. This piece has been carefully inspected to guarantee the condition and authenticity.
