About the Item

Modernist Kinetic Cocktail Ring. Fabulous, extravagant and psychedelic piece, created back at the beginning of the 1970's. The design of this sculptural ring is composed by a mix of modernism, brutalist, kinetic art and op-art. Made up with two interlocking rounded corps meeting in the middle. Crafted in solid yellow and white gold of 18 karats with textured and polished finish. The main round elements are mounted with en tremblant settings with a pair of round faceted cut (16 x 16 x 10 mm) of a purple amethyst of 12.21 carats and an orange citrine of 12.28 carats. The design of this sculptural ring is unprecedented, in addition to having been conceived with the tremblant technique, the semicircular bodies where the gems are mounted create a reflection of colors that plays with the eyes. Has a total weight of 45.8 Grams and the actual size is 6, sizeable. The overall top view measurements are 25 mm by 50 mm (1 x 2 Inches). Stamped twice with the 18kt gold assay hallmark. Note: The piece is not signed, but it was definitely created by an artist whose authorship we still do not know. Note: “En-Tremblant”, is a French term – meaning “to tremble”. it was first used to describe 18th and 19th-century jewelry where parts of the diamonds set pieces were attached to a trembler (a material that acts as a spring such as a thin metal wire) to create movement in the jewel when worn. brooches mounted in this way were particularly effective in reflecting the scintillating fire of candlelight. Collateral: It is accompanied by a presentation jewelry box. Condition: The overall condition of this ring is excellent. Beside the little normal wear, there is no damage to the gold.
