The center stone is cushion cut and such a rich blue that even in soft evening light, it boasts royal blue depth! The sapphire is surrounded by old mine cut diamonds SI1 in clarity that are clean, white, and well matched. The brightness of the diamonds against the deep blue of the sapphire is a perfect example of the old style of chiaroscuro--the flawless contrast of dramatic lights against dramatic darks.
