This Georgian-era (circa 1830) ruby and table-cut diamond ring was created entirely by hand over two-hundred years ago, though the shank itself is more recent (though still antique). This impressive and rear ring features central table-cut diamond with a faint yellow coloring. Table-cut diamonds are a rare early diamond cut where the top of the stone was cut flat into a "table." This diamond cut was popular throughout the 1600s and 1700s. But old stones were also used in newer jewelry, like what you see here. The central diamond is surrounded by 8 small rubies (or pink sapphires) and there are 6 larger rubies framing the surround, complimenting the numerous additional table-cut diamonds and small old rose cuts. Fastidiously and masterfully crafted from 15K yellow gold and silver, the ring is constructed in two sections: The center section rises high like a fresh bloom where eight small pink sapphires surround a central 6x4mm table-cut diamond. that weighs approximately .50 carats. This central section trembles slightly due to how it is constructed, which you can see on the underside of the ring. I'm not sure why this section trembles unless of course it is to maximize the scintillating sparkle of the rare diamond. The diamond is a slight pale yellow. Six additional table-cut diamonds adorn the ring, weighing a total of approximately 1 carat. And numerous tiny single-cit diamonds trim the outside edge. Six oval rubies complete the ring. The rubies together weigh approximately 1.68 carats. The face of the ring measures 26.71mm x 23.87 and it rises 11.72mm from the surface of the ringer. Bold, glittering and opulent, this is a statement ring you'll want to wear with care due to its age and the irreplaceable stones. The ring is a size 5 and your jeweler could resize it for you.
