About the Item
This lovely 18 karat Yellow gold ring holds the most beautiful and popular love medallion of all times. Plus qu'hier et moins que demain. This lovely medallion depicts a small cross and minus in the places of the words 'plus' and 'moins'. The cross is set with a small but sparkly single cut diamond while the minus is set with two synthetic rubies. When we look closely we see a small inscription in the medallion. Namely A.Augis, which stands for Alphonse Augis. He was a famous jeweller from Lyon who started making these types of love medallions.
"Plus qu'hier et moins que demain" - "More than yesterday, less than tomorrow"
A sentence from the famous poem by the Parisienne Rosemonde Gérard that she wrote in 1890: "Car, vois-tu, chaque jour je t'aime davantage, Aujourd’hui plus qu’hier et bien moins que demain." freely translated to 'because everyday I love you a little bit more, Today I love you more then yesterday, but today I also love you less then tomorrow'.
