A 17th Century English Gold Posy Ring

About the Item

Late 17th century gold posy ring, engraved to the interior with the inscription 'Alle my trust' with engraved decoration to outer shank, size 7 Weight: 4,11gr. “Posy rings,” their name deriving from the term poésie or poetry, are rings with mottoes either in prose or verse. The message was often concealed inside the hoop and its content only known to the giver and recipient.
