About the Item

This 18 Karat White Gold Alexandrite Simplistic Solitaire features a focal 7.88 carat Cats Eye Alexandrite securely set in four doubled prongs. With 2 natural inclusions coming up to the surface, as well as 1 indentation - Natural to stone, simply characteristics of earth-mined Gemstones, particularly this large in size. This Alexandrite displays a true cat's eye, also known as Chatoyancy. Although other gemstones mimicked this phenomenon, the original cat's eye was found in Alexandrites, certainly the only stone worthy of the term. Also quite rare to find a natural Alexandrite in this size alone, in addition to the excellent chatoyancy factor [with a slight color change in the daylight – refer to photos on hand] .. Shanked with an eternity band with a continuous design of Hand Engraved rosettes re-commencing the Victorian era. Eternity rings were used from the early 1800s and on, most popular in Victorian times known as the 'keeper', symbolizing a boundless devotion of Love. Though originated in the 1800s, this design lives on and is still sought after throughout the jewelry industry today. Definitely a timeless design that will continue to be favored for many years. This particular ring depicts roses, symbolizing a bouquet of roses, which is more unusual, as less than 25% of eternity bands possessed this floral pattern. With very minimal wear, clearly very well kept considering its age. In an incredibly durable design which will continue to age gracefully as apposed to a smooth surface which is much more predominant in eternity rings. Very much an understated statement suitable as an engagement ring or otherwise desired, as well as an exceptional value at the price offered. Stamped "OB 18K" inside shank.
