Antique Art Deco 1.25 Carat Diamond & Sapphire Filigree Solitaire Platinum Ring
About the Item
This antique piece was handcrafted sometime during the Art Deco design period (1920-1940). The center diamond measures approximately 1.25 carats. The center diamond is an Old European cut and grades approximately K in color and SI2 in clarity. The platinum setting features nine sparkling diamond accents and eight richly hued french cut blue sapphires. During this particular design period you might notice bridal jewelry featuring blue sapphires as accent stones. This was because during the early twentieth century the rich dark blue color of a sapphire was symbolic of fidelity, faithfulness, and unending loyalty. This antique setting has a lot of beautiful fine milgrain work and intricate filigree. A timeless solitaire style, this heirloom quality piece is perfect for passing from generation to generation.
