Art Deco 3 Carat Sapphire and Diamond Platinum Filigree Ring
About the Item
This antique piece was handcrafted sometime during the Art Deco design period (1920-1940). The center stone is a gorgeously rich blue sapphire. The central blue sapphire measures approximately 3 full carats. The platinum setting features one diamond north and south of the center sapphire. These two accent diamonds are old European cut and measure approximately 0.75 carats each; 1.50 carats combined total weight. This mesmerizing antique filigree setting features a very structured motif. During the late Art Deco design period we saw motifs turning away from floral feminine designs and becoming increasingly intricate and geometrical like this one. The sharp consistently clean lines in this design give the ring a very sophisticated and unique appearance. The antique setting features 22 sparkling diamond accents, fine milgrain accents, and simple filigreed gallery. The ring measures 1 & 3/4 inches in length and is currently a size 7.
