Art Deco 0.59 Carat Old European-cut Diamond Platinum Engagement ring
About the Item
This circa 1930s diamond and platinum engagement ring features a center approximately 0.59 carat old European-cut diamond set in a bold Art Deco-era mounting. The center diamond is set in four triple prongs and has a color grade of I - J and a clarity grade of I1 - I2. Eight round brilliant and single-cut diamonds flank each side of the center diamond that weigh approximately 0.32 carat total with G - H color grade and VS1 - VS2 clarity grade giving the ring a total diamond weight of 0.91 carat. The knife edge shank measure approximately 3.25mm at the shoulders and tapers to approximately 1.3mm at the back. The ring rises approximately 1/4" off the finger, is a US finger size 5.5, and weighs 4.1 grams. The ring can be size; however, we do not offer this service.
The old European-cut diamonds intense sparkle is due to their unique facet structure, characterized by larger, irregular shaped facets, a high crown, and a deep pavilion which were designed to maximize light reflection in the low-light conditions of candlelight which also results in a visible display of color and a warm vintage aesthetic.
