About the Item

This ring shows us all the fineness and precision of Edwardian craftsmanship: there are the calibré-cut emeralds, which are made to frame the ring face seamlessly; there are the platinum diamond settings, which hold the diamonds without tainting their colour, and without distracting from the rich shade of the gold. But most of all it is the shape of the ring face and the central, 1,0 ct diamond itself which renders this ring a lucky and truly unique find. The heart-shape, while slightly more common in recent years, is very rarely found in antique rings. Yet we can securely date this ring to the years around 1910 – that is, the years of the Edwardian reign, and the final decade of the Belle Époque – due to its craftsmanship and style. The cut of the diamond, as of all the gemstones in this ring, was done by hand, unlike as it is done today. Even in the years around 1910, this stunning piece would have been an engagement ring or a precious gift to a beloved. Using only the finest quality materials, its material value reflects the sentiment associated with the ring. The quality of the central diamond as well as of all other materials was independently certified by a renowned gemological institute, and the certificate will accompany the ring.
