Rare Paraiba Tourmaline Diamond Platinum Ring
About the Item
A vibrant neon blue Paraiba Tourmaline weighing 3.01 carats is the center piece of this gorgeous beautifully designed and masterfully hand crafted platinum diamond ring. The perfectly cut oval has a traditional brilliant cut on the top of the gemstone and a multi-facet cut on the pavilion, or bottom as to bring out the maximum of brilliance and fire. This Paraiba is loupe clean which is very rare in this rare and precious gem stone. The oval gem is embellished by 2 bright white and sparkly oval cut diamonds along with perfectly matching round brilliant cut diamonds surrounding all of the center gems and continuing down the shank. The ring size is 6 and can be sized.
The gem is accompanied by a report from the AGL - American Gemological Laboratories.
Paraiba are the rarest and by far the most valuable of tourmalines. Their unique and mesmerizing neon blue color is due to the copper content in their chemical composition. They were first discovered in 1989 in the Brazilian state of Paraiba and inherited its namesake. In 2000 further deposits were discovered in Mozambique which now is the largest supplier of this gem stone. Due to their popularity and rarity their prices in the finer qualities have surpassed some other gemstones as diamonds, sapphires and emeralds.
