Antique Victorian Forget Me Not Sardonyx Pearl Gold Ring
About the Item
This antique Victorian 15 karat yellow gold 'forget me not' ring was made late 19th century, in 1871. The ring features a blue sardonyx stone in the center which is intricately carved into a flower. The way of cutting the sardonyx, creating a shade of light and dark blue, gives a wonderful depth in the flower. The flower is surrounded by six luminous seed pearl, these are round and fit perfectly in size. The goldsmithing of this band is beautiful. The top has an open structure while the band has scrolling engravings.
The ring is in very good condition. The sardonyx flower, pearls and gold band of this ring are all handmade. It has multiple hallmarks, 15kt, Birmingham, the year letter for 1871, the master sign is illegible. The ring size is US 7.25.
