About the Item
A fine 1960s 18k textured Yellow Gold Ring set with an intricately carved Tourmaline in a style called the “Forma Livre” (Free Form) Cut. This modernist Ring crafted with outstanding workmanship recalls the typical work of the Brazilian designer, gemologist and jeweler Haroldo Burle Marx who was known for his use of large gemstones fashioned by carving or tumbling rather than being faceted. A pioneering tecnique he invented during the 1940s The unusual shapes transform Brazilian semiprecious gems into architectural elements in the jewels. The bold design makes this Ring chic, fashionable and extremely stylish. Marked 750 and numbered. Size 4 ¾
