Edwardian Opal & Diamond Half Hoop Ring Circa 1902
About the Item
Edwardian opal and diamond scrolled half hoop ring. Hallmarked Birmingham 1902 and maker mark S.BROS. Possibly hand made by Sydenham bros.
The half hoop is a lovely style, sitting across the top of the finger, making the most of this space by filling it with diamonds. These gems are set in a carved mount, decorative both at the sides of the setting and with texture carved into the shoulders of the ring.
Gemstone: One 7.2mm x 5.4mm oval solid light cabochon with good red/orange/blue play of colour, estimated weight 0.60ct
Diamond: Six early European cut, good bright material, estimated total weight 0.40ct
