Fox Medallion with Diamond Eye Accent in Yellow Gold Scrollwork Ring
About the Item
This 14 karat gold medallion featuring the profile of a fox is newly cast from an antique brass button.
Eytan Brandes set the medallion in an old coin ring. This ring came to us in bad condition: the original coin was long gone and it had chipped black enamel on the sides. However, a nice ring lurked under all the schmutz.
After removing all the enamel and polishing off all the scratches, Eytan attached the fox, gave him a diamond eye, and voila! The fox disc fits the ring perfectly, with his pointy little snout raised ever so slightly over the right edge, like he's peaking through a round porthole and asking what's for dinner! "Squirrel, I hope!"
The face of the ring is 22.1mm wide and tall and sits on a slightly raised openwork gallery with flowy scrollwork on the sides. The shoulders taper from 9mm to 2.3mm in the back. The shank is 1.1mm thick.
The diamond is a small (0.01 carats) natural and untreated earth-mined full cut, clean and bright.
Currently a size 7, resizing is complimentary for full-price buyers.
This ring weighs 11.7 grams. It is solid 14 karat gold.
