Antique Black Enamel and Yellow Gold Sepia Georgian Mourning Ring

A stunning, fine and impressive antique 1780's black enamel and 18 karat yellow gold, sepia mourning ring; part of our diverse antique Georgian jewellery and estate jewelry collections. This stunning fine and impressive antique Georgian mourning ring has been crafted in 18k yellow gold. The oval anterior face of the ring is embellished with a sepia panel depicting an urn under a weeping willow*. The posterior surface of the ring is embellished with the contemporary engraved inscription 'E Jopling, Ol 30 Augt, 1780, Oe 49'. The tapering shoulders meld with the sepia setting and meld to a plain ring shank, ornamented to the anterior with impressive black enamel and gold foliate designs. This Georgian mourning ring has been independently tested using state of the art technology (Niton XL2 Analyzer) and verified as 18k gold. This stunning sepia ring is the finest example of its type you could hope to acquire. NOTE: * A weeping willow is symbolic of mourning, sorrow and grief. Typically, they are depicted draped over urns, weeping figures, tombs and other such categorised items. Images do not always reflect the true color and brilliance of gemstones and diamonds. The video however provides a truer representation of the actual color and showcases each stone. Condition This stunning antique Georgian ring is exceptional quality. The ring is an exceptional gauge of gold and is in exceptional condition with a clear hand engraved inscription to the posterior.     An exceptional, fine and impressive Victorian black onyx, enamel and seed pearl, 20 karat yellow gold mourning brooch; part of our diverse antique jewellery collections. This exceptional, fine and impressive antique brooch has been crafted in 20k yellow gold. The brooch has a tiered elliptical form, ornamented with a black onyx panel set in relief to the centre. The onyx panel is ornamented with a central eight-point star motif, embellished with fourteen impressive seed pearls. The outer portion of the brooch is ornamented with impressive black enamel and bears elucidating wording 'In Memory Of'. The elliptical enamel decoration is flanked with rope twist decorated borders. The posterior of this exceptional Victorian brooch is ornamented with the contemporary engraved inscription 'Mother 21st Feby 1882' and 'Father 20th Jany 1874'" The reverse of the brooch is inset with a push fit panel, which allows a personal memento or keepsake to be displayed; the original hair may easily be removed and replaced if desired.
