Chrysoberyl is one of the rarest and most valuable gemstones on the planet yet most people have never even heard of it. The Chrysoberyl cat's eye was popular in the Victorian period then again in Midcentury jewelry. This 18k yellow gold ring features a beautiful and fascinating natural Chrysoberyl cat's eye gem with a sharp, defined "eye" that slides across the stone as you move your hand.
The ideal coloring for this rare and fascinating gemstone is exactly what you see here: described as "milk and honey" where honey forms the background color of the gem and the "milk" is the line of chatoyancy that travels across the stone causing it to "wink." The stone measures 13.37 mm x 10.24 x 9.47 for a weight of 12.50 carats. Chrysoberyl is a durable gemstone and an excellent choice for everyday wear. Because it is a very rare gem, most people have never seen one in person. If you're searching for a signature ring not everybody else has, this is definitely one to consider. While it was originally created for a man, anyone can wear it.
Currently a size 9, this ring could easily be resized by your local jeweler. It rises approximately 10 mm from the top of the finger.
