Antique Gorham Sterling Silver & Leather Covered Glass Safari Liquor Pint Flask

About the Item

A very fine antique liquor or whiskey 1 Pint flask. By Gorham. With a sterling twist-seal cap and removable cup on a leather covered blown glass body. The leather cover has window on each side to monitor the content levels, and the cup has a gold washed interior. Model no. S 653. With a date cypher for 1897. Engraved with an incredible oyster shell to the cup's front. So, this is perhaps a more likely an 'oystering' or 'clam-digging' flask than a safari flask. No matter the outing or occasion, this flask will add wonderful depth and quality. Marked to the neck for Gorham. Simply a top-level antique American flask! Date: 1897 Overall Condition: It is in overall good, as-pictured, used estate condition. Condition Details: There is some wear, fading, and small losses to the leather cover. There is a monogram to the silver lid as well as a few small dents around the sides. The cup has a few small dents and dings and some edge wear. Otherwise, there is some light edge wear, some fine & light surface scratches and other signs of expected light wear consistent with age. Engraved: With an Oyster to the front of the cup as well as monogram to the lid. Maker: Gorham Pattern Name: S 653 Marks: Gorham factory marks / Sterling / and s 653 to the base and neck. 1 Pint and a date cypher for 1897 Measurements: Height: ca. 7 1/2 in. Width: ca. 4 1/8 in. Depth: ca. 2 3/8 in. Items purchased from this dealer must delight you. Purchases may be returned for any reason for a period of 7 days.
