Antique 19th Century Dutch Silver & Banded Agate Pastry Server or Shovel
About the Item
A fine antique Dutch serving piece.
In .833 (2nd standard) Dutch silver.
With etched & brite-cut engraving to the bowl and the reverse.
Mounted with an orange banded agate handle.
Apparently marked with a date hallmark (that appears to be a 'G') for 1841.
Simply the perfect serving piece for the well-dressed table!

Overall Condition:
It is in overall good, as-pictured, used estate condition.
Condition Details:
There is some light fritting to the facets of the banded agate handle, some very fine & light bending here and there, and a small divot to the center of the scooping edge. Otherwise, there is some light edge wear, some light dings and indentations here and there, some fine and light surface scratches, and other signs of light wear consistent with age.

Struck with a DH maker's mark.
Marks:
Apparently marked with a date hallmark that appears to be a 'G' for 1841, and struck with the 2nd standard for .833 silver.
