About

A Russian silver gilt and guilloché enamel open salt with matching spoon, Grachev, St. Petersburg, circa 1899-1903. Of circular form, the exterior of the body enameled in a raspberry pink translucent enamel over an engine turned ground, the back of the bowl of the spoon, as well as both sides of the handle, similarly decorated. Struck with maker's mark with Imperial Warrant and 88 silver standard. Length of spoon: 2 3/4 in. (7 cm). Diameter of salt: 1 7/8 in. (4.7 cm).
