UTI Paris 1930 Art-Deco Odd Shape Pocket Watch In Solid 18Kt Yellow Gold
About the Item
Pocket watch designed by UTI Paris.
This is a very unusual pocket watch created in Paris France by the watchmakers UTI during the art-deco period, back in 1930. The case of this pendant-pocket watch has been crafted in a window-shape,in solid yellow gold of 18 karats with high polished finish. Fitted with a beveled glass and a movable hinge ring on top.
UTI
Hector Levy began making clocks and ladies watches in 1905. He sold them out of a house on Rue de Sebastopol in Paris, with a factory in La Chaux de Fonds. By 1907 Georges Meyer took over the firm and the name Utinam was first used. The Meyer, Levy, and Utinam names were used on all manner of clocks and watches. Utinam means "As G-d wills." With the rise of anti-semitism the Utinam (or UTI) label was used exclusively after 1940.

Hallmarks: Stamped with French marks, the case reference number and signed as follow, "UTI PARIS 2784".
Note: All parts has been revised and are in working and running condition.
Collateral: This UTI pocket watch is accompanied by a presentation jewelry box.
Condition: The overall condition of this UTI pocket watch is excellent. Beside the little normal wear, there is no damage to the gold. All parts are secured in the settings. This piece has been carefully inspected to guarantee the condition and authenticity.
