This impressive ladies diamond dress watch was produced by Gruen for Shreve and Co.
The case is articulated and entirely hand constructed. Set entirely with diamonds the watch is designed as an evening watch. Shreve, being the premier house in San Francisco only purchased the finest watches for their discerning clientele. They are still in business today.
This watch is fitted with an associated and appropriate stainless steel mesh cord, It originally had the identical cord bracelet, however in gold. These early metal cord bands were fragile and easily damaged. This stainless cord wears well and will always look new. it is adjustable to owners preference.
