"No Title Nr. 3" Photography Edition of 28 36" x 36" in by Yevgeniy Repiashenko Photography Edition of 28 (36 x 36 inch) by Yevgeniy Repiashenko Year photo was taken: 2017 This picture is a part of Spirit series. The picture shows the frozen movement of the dancer. Works are hand signed and numbered by the artist on verso and come with a certificate of authenticity. ABOUT THE ARTIST Yevgeniy Repiashenko is a well-versed photographer working in such genres as dynamic dance and sculpture, portrait, and fashion photography, but his main genre is still female nude photography. And we can confidently call him one of the best masters in his craft. Yevgeniy Repyashenko was born in Kiev, Ukraine in 1979. At the age of 20, while studying at the National Technical University, he starts to work with his first SLR camera. He got into portrait and fashion photography, which he explores with glossy magazines and photographers' albums from around the world. After graduation Yevgeniy bases his High-End salon, as he had a great love for music and technology. His time was divided - in the working time he directed the salon, and in the evening he was engaged in photography. For the most part, it was not a commercial, but a fine art photography. He independently studies the perception of the light image and makes post-processing by himself. Step by step he equips his own photo studio and decides to turn his passion into his profession. His works always reflect poetic beauty, naked grace and harmony. Being fascinated with classical sculpture and Renaissance painting, Yevgeniy finds a new creativity direction - sculpture photography and the plastic movement. Flawless nudity of ballerinas' and gymnasts' bodies freezes in a fit of dance leaving the strongest feelings and passion in the frame. At first glance, they do not seem real, but sculpted by hands of the master. The models are saying that shooting with Yevgeniy is not easy, but he knows what he wants to achieve, often being a choreographer at his shoots, inventing new images. His SPIRIT series is a combination of the texture of classical sculpture with the filling of modern rhythm and emotions. Ode to Botticelli's Portrait of a Man with a Medal of Cosimo the Elder
By E2 - Kleinveld & Julien
Located in New Orleans, LA
24 x 15 inches - Edition 1 of 5 with 2 APs framing is an additional $420. Photography and acting are kindred spirits in the ongoing series by E2 - Kleinveld & Julien, entitled In Empathy We Trust. The project presents viewers with re-imagined iconic images from the history of art. The collaborators re-envision the work of old master painters beginning with the Flemish Primitives and spanning nearly 600 years. With subjects enacting roles with varied representations of race, age, and sexual orientation, E2’s revisionist Art History works by artists such as van Eyck, Botticelli, Raphael, Velázquez, Rembrandt, Vermeer, Fragonard, Manet and Whistler. Inspired by the original paintings, E2 hopes to “jar viewers” into questioning their own perceptions. They invite viewers to see these images, and indeed the world anew, using humor, wit and playfulness. In addition, they hope that the viewers will see how stereotypes can lead to prejudice and discrimination. The collaboration began in 2010, after completing work on the traveling exhibition and book project, Before (During) After: Louisiana Photographers Respond to Hurricane Katrina. This natural and man-made disaster brought social inequities in Louisiana into vivid focus. Conversations between Kleinveld and Julien revealed their mutual interest in issues of social justice. E2 has been exhibited internationally in institutions such as: Royal Academy of Art (London), Photoville (New York), Gemeentemuseum (The Hague), Palazzo Fortuny (Venice), Museum Castelvecchio (Verona), Galerie SIRIUS (Tokyo), New Orleans Museum of Art and Ogden Museum of Southern Art (New Orleans). The duo is represented by JONATHAN FERRARA GALLERY, New Orleans and their work appears in numerous public and private collections, including: Benetton Collection (Treviso, Italy), Museum of Fine Arts (Houston), Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art (Trento, Italy), Hilliard University Art Museum (Lafayette, LA) and The Marks Collection (Houston). Elizabeth Kleinveld is an artist and photographer from New Orleans, now based in Amsterdam, who takes her inspiration from Paul Outerbridge...
