James Sparshatt
James Sparshatt began his photographic career in the 1990s in Bolivia, working as a photojournalist and editor of the Bolivian Times. James has had solo exhibitions in the US, Ireland, Spain, Cuba, France and across the UK. His work has also been shown at prestigious contemporary art fairs including Pulse - Miami, Art Chicago, Art Hamptons, Slick Paris, Art Market (San Francisco) among others. James’s photographs have been used for many advertising campaigns and have featured in magazines such as Dazed and Confused, Tatler, Red, Wanderlust as well as all of the UK’s major broadsheets. He has also written for the New Statesman. “My love of photography developed while I was working as a photojournalist in Latin America in the 1990s. Both there, and later in Cuba, I was captivated by the energy and exuberance of the festivals and dance so inherent in Latino life. Many of my images celebrate the rich and vibrant musical heritage of Havana, Buenos Aires and Seville. When I look at them I recall the rhythmic beat of the music and almost feel a trickle of sweat running down my back.” His exhibition at the Royal National Theatre, London was described in the Sunday Telegraph as “a dazzling collection of black and white images”. James has been a finalist in the Sony World Photographic awards, the Centre for Fine Art Photography and The Worldwide Photography Gala awards. He has also won the Center for Fine Art Photography’s International award. James frequently gives talks about his work at photographic festivals and exhibitions.

Terry O'Neill - Frank Sinatra on the Boardwalk, (Lifetime Platinum Print) 1968
By Terry O'Neill
Located in Greenwich, CT
Francis Albert Sinatra was an American singer, actor, and producer who was one of the most popular and influential musical artists of the 20th century. He is one of the best-selling music artists of all time, having sold more than 150 million records worldwide. Sinatra forged a highly successful career as a film actor. After winning an Academy Award for From Here to Eternity (1953). He appeared in various musicals, starring alongside some of the biggest names in Hollywood like Gene Kelly in On the Town (1949) and Grace Kelly in High Society (1956).
“This was the first time I ever saw Frank and I was astonished by the mere power of his presence, mesmerizing the crowd as he walked casually past.”
– Terry O’Neill
This picture was taken on the first day of filming in 1968, as singer and actor Frank Sinatra walked along the boardwalk from his hotel at the Fontainebleau in Miami Beach, with his body double and entourage to the set of ‘The Lady in Cement’. Sinatra was filming Lady in Cement in which he starred alongside Raquel Welch, as private investigator Tony Rome. Terry O'Neill recalls "I just didn't know how to go about photographing Sinatra at the hotel or what was the best way to approach him. He suddenly appeared around the corner of the boardwalk with his bodyguards and I just captured the moment."
Terry O’Neill is one of the world’s most collected photographers with work hanging in national art galleries and private collections worldwide. From presidents to pop stars he has photographed the frontline of fame for over six decades.
O’Neill began his career at the birth of the 1960s. While other photographers concentrated on earthquakes, wars and politics, O’Neill realized that youth culture was a breaking news story on a global scale and began chronicling the emerging faces of film, fashion and music who would go on to define the Swinging Sixties. By 1965 he was being commissioned by the biggest magazines and newspapers in the world.
No other living photographer has embraced the span of fame, capturing the icons of our age from Winston Churchill to Nelson Mandela, from Frank Sinatra and Elvis to Amy Winehouse, from Audrey Hepburn and Brigitte Bardot to Nicole Kidman, as well as every James Bond from Sean Connery to Daniel Craig and many other of your favorite celerities, models and famous political figures, royalty and fashion iconic names in fashion.
He photographed The Beatles and The Rolling Stones when they were still struggling young bands in 1963, pioneered backstage reportage photography with David Bowie, Elton John, The Who, Eric Clapton, Chuck Berry and many more. His images have adorned historic rock albums, movie posters and international magazine covers.
