A fine early Victorian 18 karat yellow gold, 1.82 carat diamond and turquoise jewelry set (bracelet, brooch and earrings); part of our antique jewelry and estate jewelry collections.
This exceptional antique turquoise jewelry set, consisting of a brooch, bracelet and earrings, is handcrafted in 18k yellow gold, with 9k yellow gold fastenings and settings.
The impressive bracelet has a substantial 18k yellow gold interlinked snake style wristband which secures to the reverse with a push fit catch and fine link security chain.
The anterior face of the bracelet is ornamented with a circular design incorporating a subtly domed turquoise panel accented with an applied six point 9k yellow gold star embellished with nineteen old cut diamonds, graduating in size, totaling 0.54 Ct.
The turquoise is encircled with an applied, interlacing rope twist decorated frame, which is encircled with a fancy rope twist border.
The brooch has three components: the body, a detachable circular design and associated articulated drop.
The body and detachable component both reflect the dominant star embellished turquoise motif, terminating with an articulated tear drop turquoise accented with a bezel set diamond.
The main body of this impressive early Victorian brooch contains a locket to the reverse, suitable to hold a photograph or personal memento.
The brooch secures to the reverse with a hinged pin, and incorporates a suspension hook for the detachable drop.
The earrings also feature the turquoise and star design displayed within an 18k yellow gold circular articulated drop suspended from a hallmarked screw style fastening, the anterior face of which is ornamented with a turquoise and diamond fitment.

The jewellery set is supplied with an IDGL diamond and gemstone grading report card.
This exceptional 1860s turquoise jewelry set is fitted to the original impressive leatherette, shaped presentation case which has a velvet and satin lined interior.

Antique Sterling Silver Tea and Sugar Cadies
Located in Jesmond, Newcastle Upon Tyne
A magnificent, fine and impressive set of three antique Georgian English sterling silver sugar and tea caddies - boxed; an addition to our silver teaware collection
These magnificent, fine and impressive antique Georgian silver sugar and tea caddies each have an oblong shaped form.
The surface of each antiquecaddy is embellished with impressive embossed and chased scroll and foliate decoration incorporating a stylised animalistic mask to the upper portion.
The decoration to either side incorporates a scene depicting a woman arranging flowers, and the posterior surface bears a structure, all in the chinoiserie style.
The anterior surfaces these antique tea caddies incorporate scroll and leaf bordered cartouches, each displaying a contemporary engraved coat of arms.
The opposing scrolling lower portion of each caddy composes a shaped rim and foot.
These caddies are fitted with the original hinged cast silver covers, ornamented with further foliate and floral decoration and surmounted with impressive floral finials.
These Georgian silver tea caddies and sugar canister are fitted to the fine and impressive, original hinged wood and skin covered presentation casket, bearing the original velvet lined interior.
The presentation box is fitted with the original silver escutcheon and carrying handle, in addition to four bracket style feet emanating from the corners.
These magnificent silver boxes are the finest of their type you could hope to acquire.
Condition
These antique 18th century tea/sugar caddies are a magnificent gauge of silver, magnificent quality and in magnificent condition.
The cast, embossed and chased decoration is very sharp and the engraved ornamentation is very crisp; the definition of these details indicates these caddies have seen little or no use.
The original casket is distressed in keeping with age, however, remains in working condition.
Full hallmarks struck to the underside of the caddies are all very clear; the hallmarks are struck deeply due to the magnificent gauge of silver.
Reflections in photographs may detract from the true representation of these 18th century tea caddies.

Bow Porcelain Orphaned Coffee Cup, Famille Rose Peony, circa 1755
By Bow Porcelain
Located in London, GB
This is a very charming orphaned coffee cup made by the Bow Porcelain factory in about 1755. The cup is decorated in a Chinese "famille rose" peony pattern. This cup would have been part of a large tea service, and the tiny size shows how expensive coffee was in the 18th Century.
The Bow Porcelain Factory was one of the first potteries in Britain to make soft paste porcelain, and most probably the very first to use bone ash, which later got perfected by Josiah Spode to what is now the universally used "bone china". Bow was the main competitor of the Chelsea Porcelain Factory, but where Chelsea made very fine slipcast porcelain, Bow made a different soft paste porcelain that tended to be softer and could be pressed into moulds. Bow served a larger public generally at lower prices. The factory was only in operation between 1743 and 1774, after which the tradition got incorporated into some of the later famous potteries such as Worcester and Derby.
The cup is unmarked, which is normal for Bow items of this era.
Condition report the cup is in excellent condition without any damage or repairs. There are various glazing imperfections, which are quite normal for porcelain of this era.

Bow Pair of Porcelain Figures, Arlecchino and Columbina, Rococo ca 1758
By Bow Porcelain
Located in London, GB
This is a wonderful pair of figures of Arlecchino and Columbina, made by the Bow Porcelain factory in about 1758. These figures formed part of a series of the Commedia dell'Arte, a very popular series of theatrical figures that served as decoration at the dinner table in the 18th Century.
These figures were used to adorn the dinner table when dessert was served; groups of figures served to express something about the host, the guests, or to direct the conversation. The Italian Commedia Dell'Arte, a comical form of masked theatre, was very popular in those days and Bow copied many figures of the German Meissen series that were brought out in the decades before.
This pair dates from about 1758, which was at the height of Bow's ability to make beautiful figurines often copied from Chelsea or Meissen. The pair is modelled after a Meissen pair by Kaendler. The porcelain is translucent with a beautiful milky glaze - Bow was probably the first pottery using bone in its porcelain recipe. Arlecchino (Harlequin) is playing the bagpipes, dressed in an odd costume of mismatched chintz and playing cards and wearing a funny black trumpet...
