The Galeries Lafayette department store on Boulevard Haussmann in Paris was inaugurated in October 1912. Soon, it became the second most visited monument in Paris, after the Eiffel Tower.
In 1922, the Galeries Lafayette department store opened the "La Maîtrise" applied art studios run by the decorator Maurice Dufrêne, who became its artistic director. The vocation of these workshops is to produce "works" (furniture, fabrics, rugs, wallpapers, ceramics, etc.) within the reach of all (well almost). The decorators and twin brothers Jean and Jacques Adnet, are among the first collaborators.
An ironwork section is created under the name of Ferronnerie d'Art Des Galeries. Talented ironworkers participate, such as Marcel Vasseur, who created the ironwork of La Maîtrise Pavilion at the 1925 International Exhibition of Modern Decorative and Industrial Arts...

Pure Art Deco, Marvelous Design & Warm Color Nutwood Mantle / Desk / Table Clock
Located in Lisse, NL
Beautiful design and also practical in size Art Deco table clock.
Over the years we have sold a number of striking (no pun intended) Art Deco clocks, but never one as cool and almost futuristic looking and perfectly symmetrical as this one. The perfect warm patina makes this clock extra special and because of its unique design and color it will look great in every Art Deco interior. To have found this hand crafted in layers table clock with rounded edges was a treat, but to find it in this amazing condition really made our day. Have you also noticed the unique and perfect condition shiny brass clock face? For it to run and strike perfectly was another plus and it all shows that this clock has been loved and looked after from the day it was handcrafted. This perfect working antique clock...

Marble One Cut Table Clock, Moreno Ratti
By Moreno Ratti
Located in Geneve, CH
Marble One Cut table clock - Moreno Ratti
Dimensions: D 9 x W 20 x H 20 cm
Materials: Calcata Oro marble.
The idea of this collection comes from the desire to take the concept of minimalism to the extreme, as in the Recisi series: a single cut of a geometric figure (the square) allows the creation of a functional object where the two pieces that compose it, respond to a need.
The family consists of: a table lamp (Moon Lamp) with a touch-sensitive ignition system, a clock and a solifleur.
Moreno Ratti

Wonderful clock for the collectors of truly stylish Gothic antiques, by W.H.Tooke, Paris.
Finding this unique (Germany made) Gothic table clock again felt like a blessing. 19th-Century Flame Mahogany Mantel Clock by Breguet Raised by Lion Paw Feet
By Breguet a Paris
Located in Oxfordshire, United Kingdom
An extremely rare mantel clock with a figured mahogany-veneered case by A-L Breguet
Abraham-Louis Breguet (1747-1823), who was of Swiss origin, is undoubtedly the most celebrated clockmaker of the late eighteenth and early nineteenth centuries in France. He is responsible for the invention of the self-winding watch, the tourbillon and the sympathetic watch ( a watch that is placed in a cradle of a special clock. It is then linked by means of a pin fixed behind the clock dial. Built into the motion work which, when released by the clock, automatically sets the hands to the clock's time as well as correcting the watch's regulator necessitated by any degree of inaccuracy registered at the moment of synchronisation) and many other horological improvements and developments. Around the year 1807 Breguet brought in his son, Antoine-Louis (born 1776), as a business partner, and from this point, the firm became known as Breguet et Fils. Breguet had previously sent his son to London to study with the great English chronometer maker John Arnold...
