Monumental Adrian Pearsall Brutalist Wall Mounted Disc Dry Bar, 1970's
By Craft Associates, Adrian Pearsall
Located in Culver City, CA
Available right now we have this increasingly rare, mid century modern, brutalist disc bar by Adrian Pearsall for Craft Associates. This brutalist wall mounted disc cabinet is definitely a conversation piece-- stretching a whopping 48" in diameter, this disc dar opens to reveal a mirrored back as well as 2 shelf inserts. They say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, and this entire brutalist line of furniture appears to have (pretty obviously) been inspired by American craft movement designer Paul Evans, who designed nearly identical pieces which were available through Directional Furniture to the trade in the 1960's and 1970's. While this piece doesn't have the pedigree of an original Paul Evans piece, what is does have is an abundance of over-the-top maximalist style with a much more palatable price tag. Without being mounted to the wall, this piece was a little tougher than an average piece to photograph, but for scale purposes we photographed it resting on the floor alongside a Fabricius and Kastholm grasshopper...

Raymond Loewy Inspired Green Chapter One Dry Bar Buffet by Broyhill Premier
By Raymond Loewy, Broyhill
Located in Chattanooga, TN
The Chapter One Server (model 6316-05) is a fabled unicorn. Broyhill's Chapter One line has acquired a cult following over the last decade. This Server / Dry bar is the first (and most likely last) one we've had our hands on in 15 years, and it's not for lack of hunting. Trust us when we say, you won't find another one anywhere, and if you do, it won't be fully restored like this show pony. Broyhill’s Chapter One Collection is officially harder to find and more sought after than the Raymond Loewy originals. With all due respect to Raymond Loewy, there really is something magical about the Chapter One line. Maybe they’re just more fun and approachable. Maybe it’s the proportions and practicality. Regardless, they’re one of our favorite collections of all time. The restoration team pulled no punches on this Chapter One Green Server / Dry-Bar, and the end result exceeded our expectations. Every inch of painted wood was professionally sanded primed and painted to match the original bright white. The laminate top and green molded plastic door / drawer fronts were finally buffed and polished to a glassy shine. It’s tough to see this one go, but we know it will be loved. Broyhill’s Chapter one collection borrowed from the plastic mold injection designs made famous by legendary designer Raymond Loewy. Like Loewy, this Chapter One Green Server employs the futuristic use of color and materials in a way that had not been seen before. The bright green plastic captures the playful spirit of the 1970s. The cabinet is supported by four steel casters that roll with ease. Three hinged doors with towel racks and wood bottle holders, conceal adjustable shelves. Of course this gem is finished on the back with a giant inset green panel framed in the curved white wood. This colorful, curvaceous case-good could have blended in nicely on the set of 2001 A Space Odyssey. The space-age look has never been more desirable, which may help explain the recent scarcity of all things Chapter One. Chapter One green credenza original catalog description: Broyhill’s Chapter One is the beginning of a new era in furniture design and technology. It emphasizes the use of new materials, new shapes and new finish concepts. Chapter One uses plastic for design as well as durability. The fronts are of “Cycolac” polymer, the tops are of newly developed Pionite high gloss laminate, pedestal tulip bases of spun steel. Curved wood areas of select tupelo veneers with cabinet hardwoods are the result of advanced woodworking technology. The bright lacquer finish was especially blended for Chapter One. The House & Garden colors are impregnated into the plastic so that the brilliant colors are completely through the Cycolac. All this plus the outstanding Premier features that are standard in Chapter One, make it one of the most outstanding furniture values...

Mid-Century Modern Bookcase Hutch with Secretary Bar and Storage Cabinet
By Poul Hundevad
Located in Chattanooga, TN
Versatile Mid-Century Modern bookcase hutch with many storage options. This piece packs a lot of versatility. The open shelving makes it useful as a bookcase. The drop down door cabinet can be used as a secretary writing desk or bar. Keep glassware in the top display case. The display case is protected with smoked glass. This smoked glass is stylish but also helps to maintain a tidy appearance by partially concealing items within. The cabinets are modular. You can position them any way you like within the two leg supports. There are levelers on the feel. The hutch’s minimalist design and exotic hard wood construction suggests Scandinavian origins, however the piece is unmarked so we can’t be sure. One thing we can be sure of — it’s super practical and exceptionally well made. These type of tropical hardwood species only come from South Asia or South America. The materials and execution are exemplary. A matching credenza and corner storage cabinet are available (sold separately). Buy all three pieces or any combination of three to create a complete storage and shelving...
