HOPE - 4 conceptual still life photographs spelling motivational word
By Christian Stoll
Located in San Francisco, CA
large scale conceptual environmental still life photographs playing with viewer's perspective creating individual letters from found objects spelling the word HOPE
H-O-P-E by Christian Stoll
Focusing in on this epic photograph work, you will find yourself lost in the artwork's details. Reminiscent of the appropriation artwork of Vik Muniz, Christian Stoll arranges everyday objects to spell letters of the alphabet.
Only at close inspection does the viewer realize he/she is looking at an actual photograph, created in camera rather than with digital manipulation.

Three Perspectives
Located in ATLANTA, GA
Helene and Eric Bess are a team who have been collaborating for over 20 years. Both are professional artists with extensive experience in both the commercial and fine art fields. They presently work out of their studio in Florida, creating original art for gallery display, fine art crafts and taking commissions for murals & embellishments.
Helene was born in Canada in 1949. She studied art in Europe as a young adult and attended Phoenix Pratt School of Design in New York and St. Petersburg Community College in Florida. She worked for advertising agencies and freelance art projects such as theater design and t-shirt designs for several companies. She owned and operated an art studio (“Artistic Endeavors”) in Melbourne, Fl. for five years. She started doing murals and embellishments (residential and commercial) from 1992 till present. She considers her early life in Europe the major source of her artistic influence as well as the works of Modigliani.
Eric was born in Missouri in 1950. He started drawing literally as an infant and has never stopped. He was taking commissions for book covers & wall designs in his teens and studied art at Auburn University and The University of Alabama. He taught art in public schools in Alabama in the ‘70s. He worked as art director at Huntsville Educational Television for 6 years, as art director at Southern Sportswear in Daytona for 9 years, at Creative Signs & Designs in Flagler, Fl. for 6 years, and as a freelance artist and co-owner (with his wife Helene) of “BessStudio” (formerly “Artistic Innovations Inc.”) since 1998. His artistic influences include Michelangelo, Vermeer, Blake, Maxfield Parish...

"Summer Guests"
By Joseph Barrett
Located in Lambertville, NJ
Illustrated in "Joseph Barrett, The Prime Years 1970s - 1990s", pg. 16 018
Jim’s of Lambertville is proud to offer this artwork by:
Joseph Barrett (1936 – )
Joseph Barrett was born in Midland, North Carolina, in 1936 and studied at the Massachusetts College of Art in Boston and at the Tyler School of Art in Philadelphia. Barrett, now of Lahaska, Pennsylvania, has been painting his entire adult life. His favorite subjects include the landscape surrounding New Hope and many local landmarks often encompassing figures into his compositions. Barrett utilizes a heavy impasto and his palette bears similarities to that of Fern Coppedge and George Sotter. Barrett’s paintings are always found in unique and somewhat charming handmade frames designed by the artist and finished in metal leaf.
A living contemporary of the no longer living “New Hope School” impressionist painters, Joseph Barrett resides outside of New Hope above his old-fashioned antique shop and studio. Entering Barrett’s shop is like taking a step back in time. Inside this cluttered and dusty haven of treasures from the past, is a studio spanning only four by eight feet. This little studio, containing cans of old brushes and hundreds of used paint tubes...

By James Denmark
Located in Charelston, SC
James Denmark is a formally trained artist, and one of the few masters of collage. Represented by Neema Fine Art Gallery with locations in Charleston, SC and Atlanta, GA, Denmark utilizes an exacting process to cut and assemble brightly handcolored papers, fabric and objects into familiar figures and images. Denmark is also proficient in charcoal and watercolor. Born in Winter Haven, Florida in 1936, Denmark’s grandmother, a wire sculptor and quilt artist, exposed him to color and form at an early age. He was also influenced by his grandfather, a bricklayer noted for his unique custom design molds.
Denmark attended Florida Agriculture and Mechanical University (FAMU) in Tallahassee, FL where studied under the artist and acclaimed African-American art historian, Dr. Samella Lewis and received a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree. After graduating from FAMU, Denmark moved to Brooklyn, NY and began teaching art in the public school system. Denmark earned his Master of Fine Arts Degree at the prestigious Pratt Institute of Fine Arts in New York.
While at Pratt, Denmark was heavily influenced by the abstract expressionists, admiring such mainstream artists as Jackson Pollock, Clifford Still...

By Elizabeth Turk
Located in New York, NY
Born in Pasadena and raised in Orange County, Elizabeth Turk earned her M.F.A. at the Rinehart School of Sculpture, Maryland Institute College of Art in Baltimore.
In Turk’s work, the shape of the line is created by extreme loss. That is, the reductive process of carving creates a positive, fragile form in which the absence of the original material is a focus. Turk encourages us to consider how nature has shaped these organic materials long before the artist’s manipulation of them into new forms. When viewed as components in a complex natural system, their singular beauty and inherent mystery is revealed. Turk compels us to view works of art not only as objects to be coveted and collected, but also as expressions of the natural world and our evolving relation to it.
A recipient of numerous awards, including a MacArthur Foundation Fellowship (2010), a Barnett and Annalee Newman Foundation Fellowship (2010), and a Smithsonian Artist Research Fellowship (2011), Turk is internationally recognized for transforming her signature medium of marble into strikingly intricate objects that defy convention and challenge our preconceptions of what marble can do. Through the use of electric grinders, dental tools...

Mixed Media on Canvas
48x48 in.
Signed by artist
Justin Lyon's credits his introduction into the world of street art as the spark that led him to his style of work. Over the next several years, Justin started to take his art production more seriously. Inspired by the li- ves and work of Cy Twombly, Barry McGee, and Jean-Michel Basquiat, Justin refined his process and worked to develop a style all his own which is both thought- provoked and thought-provoking.
Justin’s mediums include wood, acrylic, house paint, spray paint, oil stick, epoxy resin and pencil. He aims to produce art that sticks with the viewer long after they seen it. “What I am after is capturing the thoughts and feelings of the human condition with images and words that make you stop and think about what's in front of you.” Justin wants “to make honest art, raw art, vulnerable art...
