A Penthouse
Like many design projects, this Chicago penthouse was much like the metaphorical snowball. What began as a simple refurnishing of rooms expanded into a complete demolition and renovation of this 37th-floor apartment — a space that feels both glamorous and kick-your-feet-up; tailored and utterly comfortable. The biggest challenge was to transform the contemporary penthouse into a home that feels welcoming and layered; personal and perfect for entertaining. To make the space feel more like home, we incorporated one-of-a-kind vintage pieces, a warm palette, and cozy yet luxurious textures like suede and wool. Some of our favorite bespoke elements include the William McClure painting in the entry, a custom-designed Kyle Bunting rug, and the study’s high gloss black finish with matte blue backs to contrast. Design is in the details, after all.
