Dyckman Landing

Restaurant by Andrew Franz Architect PLLC in New York, NY

A new complex of restaurants and public amenities alongside the Hudson River centers on an open courtyard, its buildings low and casual and designed to dissolve into the beauty of the waterfront site. Opening glass walls blur the separation between indoors and outdoors, while natural hues of weathered wood, rusted steel and plant-covered walls echo the area’s vernacular waterfront architecture. Building materials had to be readily available, inexpensive and durable to withstand both the marine environment and heavy wear from daily use.
