Family Home by Donna Mondi Interior Design in Chicago, IL

Located in the heart of LakeView, built in the early 1900’s, this family home had great bones after a previous renovation but was lacking in personality. Our clients wanted to upgrade the “builder finishes” to reflect more of their personalities and design styles. Creative space planning, some well placed architectural changes, and gorgeous furnishings transformed this home without invasive and wasteful renovations. Wall coverings, a new fireplace surround, strategic paint changes, reeded glass, and new hardware come together to create a more custom home. Incorporating a legacy dining set as well a few collectables that were meaningful to our clients also helped drive the design. Don’t be fooled by the beautiful rooms. This home is meant to be lived in with durable fabrics and rugs throughout; perfect for a busy family.
