Mid-Century Modern Manhattan

Apartment by InSpace NY Design in New York, NY

InSpace NY designed Manhattan apartment starts with the Master Bedroom creating an ambience both cozy and moody. The window drapery comes from Holly Hunt's Mokum metallic sheer. The center piece of the suite is an RH Modern French iron canopy bed which echoes the style of its 19th-century predecessors with a linear silhouette, slender posts and unadorned headboard. Sheer Belgian linen bed swags drape loosely from the canopy to soften the bed structure and add drama. The Align Daybed by Anita Johansen, in Natural Oak can be found resting against the bed forming a contrast of color and texture. The Daybed is, at one and the same time, highly sophisticated and uncomplicated embracing typical Nordic aesthetic. Danish design influences comes from a stunning Mid-Century era vintage desk; making a solid statement in this unique and sophisticated design comprised of rich rosewood. Paired with the sculptural Maxime velvet and brass dining chair by Jonathan Adler compliments the desk; It's crisscross brass frame cradles a softly curved seat. This ostensibly peculiar combination of forms perfect the work space while exuding elegance. Accessories in the room have been carefully selected to compliment the aesthetic adding a thoughtful but yet sophisticated layer to the narrative of the metropolitan couple who rest here. Aged brass ribbed bath accessories provide the perfect accent to the bathroom, highlighting the striking patterns in the veining that run through the large slabs of marble. The elegant kitchen is a resolute study in high drama, with black polished quartz counter tops, acid-etched, back-painted glass cabinetry with custom millwork interiors offset against light wood floors and soft grey walls.
