Santa Barbara Wine Tasting Room

In 2018, Corinne designed the spatial layout and custom furniture for a Santa Ynez Valley winery’s tasting room in downtown Santa Barbara. Corinne wanted to evoke the cozy, family and friend focused experience of the vineyard and recreate it in the city using vernacular elements of the existing property in the countryside.

The winery features wood milled from timbers recently found in the Columbia River that date back to the late 1880s. Submerged for many decades, similar logs were used in the tasting room to link with the vineyard and to incite a sense of local heritage.

Raw, textured and rustic, these materials juxtapose with minimal shapes to create a serene space in which to enjoy a glass of wine. It’s a place for friends and family to gather as if it were home.
