This exceptional antique Austrian silver coffee pot has a plain cylindrical form.
The coffee pot body is plain and encompassed with an applied moulded girdle to the upper portion.
This exceptional coffee pot is fitted with the original push fit cover, encompassed with a palmette leaf style border to the rim.
The cover is surmounted with an impressive cast silver foliated finial.
This coffee pot is fitted with an elongated handle overlaid with the original interwoven wicker, strategically interlaced to produce a segmented braided design; this finely detailed feature indicates the high quality of the piece.
The pot detaches from the original hallmarked silver stand, supported by four impressive scrolling legs.
The circular frame and base of the stand are encompassed with further palmette decorated borders.
The stand bears a circular receiver to the centre, accommodating the original detachable rounded spirit burner.

An outstanding and important Regency writing table by William Jamar
Located in Lymington, Hampshire
This outstanding and important writing table has a rectangular top above two cedar-lined frieze drawers. It is raised on rectangular section flared end supports with parcel gilt and ebonised scroll spandrels and feet joined by a flat brass inlaid stretcher. The decoration comprises superb quality amboyna, ebony and calamander veneers. The top has a central amboyna field within a Boulle work border of inlaid ormolu foliate sprays, while the sides have further amboyna panels within ormolu stringing and calamander crossbanding. With a copy of the invoice stating it was from the Wellington Collection and probably sold by the 8th Duke. English, circa 1815.

Lord Gerald Wellesley, 7th Duke of Wellington (1885-1972) was an Anglo-Irish diplomat (1908-1919) who served as a Lieutenant-Colonel in the Grenadier Guards during World War II and then became an architect. His collection at 11 Titchfield Terrace was one of the first major regency furniture collections in Britain. In 1947, he gave Apsley House and its important contents (the Wellington Collection) to the nation with the proviso that he and his family were able to occupy a large portion of it. A Georgian long gold chain, of belcher links with a repeat zig-zag pattern. This chain has three barrel clasps and can also be worn as a shorter necklace and two bracelets or one bracelet and a medium length chain, circa 1820.
This style of Georgian or Regency chain was at its height of popularity between 1800 and 1840. The Napoleonic wars had lead to a scarcity of gold, therefore jewellers designed pieces that had as much impact as possible, whilst utilising smaller quantities of gold. The chains are hand made, with the patterns being produced by stamping thin gold sheet, which were then curved lengthways and soldered together to form oval or round belcher links.
From 1848 onwards more gold deposits were discovered, this lead to increases in weight of chains and had a strong influence on jewellery design in the Victorian period. The chunky look and delicate feel is distinguishes Georgian chains from Victorian examples.

The circular tilt top has a central field of book-matched, figured rosewood within a broad band of cut brass inlay. The edge is boldly carved with an acanthus and dart border. The central support is hexagonal in section with a broad central flange, raised on three powerful and ornately carved legs. The knees are presented as bold acanthus carved and gadrooned volutes. The lions’ paw feet have clearly defined knuckles and claws and enclose the original brass castors. English, circa 1825.
