White 3D Printed Ceramic Sculptural Vase Italy Contemporary, 21st Century
By Andrea Salvatori
Located in London, GB
"Composizione 40100 #08" (Sarabanda), 2019, glazed earthenware, measures: H 38 x 40 x 40cm Andrea Salvatori (Italy, 1975) is an internationally renowned visual artist working with the ceramic medium to realize often ironic and witty sculptures, sometimes involving a diverse selection of found objects, such as Murano glass vases, Meissen Porcelain miniatures or Ginori period ceramics sourced in flea markets around Europe. Salvatori’s works often begin with these items and proceed by the addition of elements masterfully created by the artist, generating an unexpected semantic shift. The result is unique, encompassing pop culture and kitsch aesthetics: a witty and effective way to turn reality upside-down and at the same time a powerful combination of exquisite craftsmanship and genuine irony. Andrea Salvatori was born on 3 of March 1975 in Faenza (Ra), Italy; he has graduated at the Istituto d’arte for Ceramic in Faenza in 1995, and he then graduated with a Degree in Sculpture at the Accademia di Belle Arti of Bologna in 2000. During his studies, Andrea learned the secrets of ceramics from the creative duo Bertozzi & Casoni having worked as an apprentice in their studio for many years at the same way as during Renaissance artists learned their practice with their Masters. Since 1997 he had several individual and collective exhibitions. In 2009 he won the first prize at the 56th edition of the prestigious Premio Faenza, the International Contest of Contemporary Art Ceramics, for which he classified second in the prior edition. In 2011 he classified second at the Sidney Myer Fund Australian Ceramic...

Accolay French Ceramic Vase or Vessel Manner of Alexander Kostanda
By Accolay Pottery
Located in Miami, FL
A beautiful handcrafted mid-20th Century French Accolay ceramic vase or vessel. This stunning Accolay ceramic vase was hand-crafted with an eye catching design. The neutral colors and design fits perfectly with almost any color scheme. Designed in the manner of Alexander Kostanda pieces this Accolay ceramic vase will enhance any setting. Stamped Accolay. Very good vintage condition, no cracks or chips. Measures: 9" H x 9 3/4" W x 5 1/2" D More about Accolay pottery: Under the term Poterie d'Accolay or Accolay pottery, we group together the production of a community of potters settled in the village of Accolay, in the department of Yonne. This production center was created by four former students of Alexander Kostanda. Active from 1945-1983, their pottery is distinguished by a great technical inventiveness and an extremely abundant production. The pottery community exploited the proximity of the National 6 (can be compared to Route 66 in the USA) by investing in the service stations to make permanent exhibition places on the circuit of migration of Parisian tourists. Their exhibition buildings, inspired by the construction of the 24h circuit of Le Mans, became the obligatory stage for holiday makers in transit. The National 6 joins the 7 known as the sun route. This form of marketing continued at the entrance to Vermenton until the closure of factories in 1983. The creation of the Lyon motorway had however for several years derived the flow of tourists. The forefather Alexandre Kostanda (Dec 1921 - Nov 2007) was born in Poland of Russian parents. The family emigrated to Lorraine in France, where his mother Irene worked as a decorator in a porcelain factory. They then moved to Vallauris, where his mother worked at Louis Giraud's workshop. Alexandre joined the company as an apprentice from 1936-1938. After the war he taught pottery at the Longchamps Pottery...
