Our trusted network of 1stDibs sellers answer common questions
Are prints of famous paintings worth anything?
1 Answer

Whether prints of famous paintings are worth anything varies. Some artists, such as Andy Warhol and Jasper Johns, made prints after their own paintings, signing and numbering them by hand. These pieces may have considerable value, depending on their condition, historical significance and other characteristics. Prints of famous paintings made by third parties that don't bear the original artist's signature may not have much value. However, there are exceptions to the rule. To find out how much a print may be worth, consider using the services of a certified appraiser or experienced art dealer. On 1stDibs, explore a large selection of art prints.

In 1979 in Mykonos, McKnight met Renate, a vacationing Austrian student, and married the following year. Throughout the 1980s McKnight’s art, mainly limited edition serigraph prints, became increasingly popular. In 1994 he was commissioned by the White House to paint the first of three images for President Clinton...
