Celestial Mirabelle, Original Contemporary Abstract Nautical Mixed Media Work, 2018 11" x 8.5" (HxW) Collage and Pen on Paper With clear inspiration from natural botanicals and oceanic life, artist Jenny Brown combines found imagery and her own mark making to create delicate yet bold designs. Artist Commentary: Evening Moon Fruit is a burst of color in the night sky, perhaps the light of another galaxy or interstellar nebula? Existing between constellations and planets, lush with roses and pink apples, this work is inspired by our dreamscapes and fascination with science fiction. Sea Spine, Original Contemporary Abstract Nautical Mixed Media Work, 2015 11" x 8.5" (HxW) Collage, Acrylic Paint, and Pen on Paper With clear inspiration from natural botanicals and oceanic life, artist Jenny Brown combines found imagery and her own mark making to create delicate yet bold designs. In this work a shell sits against a bright teal background, teeming with life: purple and pink flowers, lush green foliage, and a peacock feather adorn the crustacean home, as if growing directly from its surface. The work is further unified with pink dots painted about, with fine white lines emerging like tentacles or perhaps additional branches and leaves.
