La main de mon père is a superb original sanguine drawing on paper, realized in 1935 by the French artist Eliane Diverly (1914-2012).
Dated and signed in sanguine pencil by the artist on lower right corner.

A really beautiful anatomical study of different gestures and hand postures (a woman's hand showing a ring, a hand holding a cigarette in a sophisticated gesture, a writing hand, a hand leafing through a book). Considering the fact that drawing hands was relegated to the painters of the hands in ancient workshops, a very difficult task, this modern artwork testifies to the great technical and observation ability of the Eliane Diverly. A full mastery of the drawing technique is evident here.
In very good condition, except for a visible stain on lower right margin, a defect does not affect the image. The left margin has some typical holes of the sketch-drawing books!

Éliane Diverly (1914 - 2012) was a French painter, portraitist, designer, and watercolorist. From a family of perfumers, she grew up in Grasse after spending her first years in Paris. Encouraged by her family, she attended the Grande Chaumière classes in Paris where she later settled. She made her first exhibitions in Cannes and Nice. He owes her work for advertising, fashion magazines and especially for the perfume world she has come from. She was a member of the Drawing and Water Painting Trade Shows, the National Museum of Fine Arts and the French Artists.Éliane Diverly was invited to present a retrospective of her work at the Independence Hall in 1999. She received numerous decorations during her exhibitions.
