Zoa Ace
1980's Figurative -- David Bowie, Iman and Friends

1981

About the Item

Color, music, fashion, fame, fishnet stockings, sports, the party scene and allegory - elements of the 1980s - all are captured in this pastel image by Denver artist Zoa Ace (American, 20th century). Signed and dated by the artist, lower right corner. Presented in a rustic, distressed, vintage wood frame. Image, 31.69"H x 21.44"W. Influenced by Max Beckman; Max Beckmann was a German painter, draftsman, print maker, sculptor, and writer. Although he is classified as an Expressionist artist, he rejected both the term and the movement. Zoa's images are subconsciously manifested into a juxtaposition of themes and figures in motion.
