About the Item
Vibrant still life by Free Dean (American, 1907-1987). Expertly executed depiction of yellow, red, and orange flowers arranged in a pot. To the left of the arrangement is a small jar, decorated with figures. The reflections on the table and the wallpaper pattern add a realistic sense of depth.
Signed "Free Dean" in the lower right corner.
Presented in a new cream mat with foamcore backing.
No frame.
Free Dean was born in Murray, GA on March 3, 1907. Dean was active in northern California in the 1930s. By 1941 he had returned to Chatsworth, GA where he remained until his demise in April 1987.
