About
Star (paper) collage and cutouts in pinks and blues, employs simplicity of design and execution. The artist’s subjects are usually abstract, made of forms, lines, colors and their relationships to each other and the spaces that they inhabit.
Fred Bendheim exhibits in galleries and museums internationally, and his works are represented in collections including The Museum of Arts and Design, NYC, The Montclair Art Museum, San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, The Instituto Veneto di Scienze, Lettere ed Arti, Venice, The Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art, The National Museum of Costa Rica, The Neiman-Marcus Collection, Bradley International Airport, The Mayo Center for Humanities and others. His numerous sculpture and painting commissions include two fountain/sculptures for Frank Lloyd Wright buildings and paintings for the Waldorf Astoria Hotel. Bendheim has lived and maintained his studio in Brooklyn, NY since 1983. He writes about art for the British journal, The Lancet, and is a teaching artist at The Art Student’s League.
